Post-Traumatic Stress | Chiropractic Care

With many vets returning home from war and more people coming forward with past cases of serious abuse, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is becoming an everyday word in our vernacular.  People with PTSD will often have flashbacks to past incidents and relive the traumatic moment.  Often there is an emotional detachment or a numbing or having extreme outbursts or difficulty concentrating.

PTSD is a valid type of anxiety disorder.  If you suspect you have it, please contact a mental health professional.

Chiropractic care is NOT a cure for PTSD but is an excellent complement to your existing health-care practices.  Chiropractic helps to put the body into its natural “rest and digest” neurological response rather than being stuck in “Fight or Flight,” which most people with PTSD are.  With a recreated sense of safety in the body, the symptoms associated with PTSD often will be calmed.
